President and CEO
Al Pendergast was appointed President and CEO of MFC on August 1, 2010. With 22 years of management experience in the telecommunications and information technology industries, Al brings a wealth of operational and business development background to MFC. Al replaces former Principal and CEO Mike Doiron. Mike served for over 12 years in a distinguished and celebrated career.
Al is a registered Professional Engineer. Al graduated from the Technical University of Nova Scotia with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering in 1988. Al began his professional career with NBTel where he served in a number of operational management roles until his transition to Information Technology in 1995. Al had a diverse range of experience while serving with NBTel and Bell Aliant’s IT subsidiaries including operations, sales, human resource management, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions. Al’s last role at Bell Aliant was the Vice President of Professional Services for xwave. In this role, he was responsible for the profitability of this line of business for Bell Aliant’s IT Division, xwave.
Al is a Life Member of the Canadian Cancer Society where he served as President of the New Brunswick Division and was a longtime National and Division board member. He is also the former President of the Riverview Minor Hockey Club and he continues to coach minor Hockey in Moncton. | | |
Recruitment and Admissions Officer
France Arsenault (BBA; MBA) joined the Moncton Flight College in July 2009. An international student herself and originally from Moncton/Dieppe, Ms. Arsenault brings excellent qualifications to the MFC Recruitment and Admissions section. France is responsible for student recruitment and admissions for the Moncton Flight College and will take a lead role in future development of this vital College position.

 Licensing Officer Gerry Benoit was hired at MFC as a dispatcher in June 1975. In September of 1975 he became the Chief Dispatcher including Pilot Supplies Manager.
In March 1982 he became an Authorized Personal MFC for temporary licences thru Transport Canada and continues doing so today. Fall of 1999 to 2001, Gerry left dispatch for licensing, accounting and pilot supplies sales. He returned to dispatch in the fall of 2001 as the Operational Support Manager. As of November 2005, he is presently holding the position of Licensing Officer / Pilot Shop Management in the administration department. Contact Gerry |

 Director of Advanced Education Mel Benson (B.A. B.Ed.) has been with the Moncton Flight College since 1999. Mel has a broad range of experience from various agencies including Transport Canada/Nav Canada (Training and Air Navigation Services), New Brunswick Dept of Education and BKM Research & Development. Mel’s main focus has been with MFC’s school development and Advanced Education projects but is also heavily involved with information technology and the College’s Admissions & Student Services department.  Accounting and Payroll Officer
Melanie Shaw joined the Moncton Flight College in May 2009 as Accounting and Payroll Officer. Originally from Hillsborough, now living in Riverview, Melanie brings 6 years of accounting knowledge from various backgrounds including, agriculture; transportation, medical billing and hospitality/tourism. She is responsible for payroll, accounts payable, month end functions and HR Assistant.

Paul Cormier, joined the MFC staff in March of 2007, he is a IT graduate from CompuCollege. Paul`s role is to take care of the maintenance, repair, and upgrades for the computer systems / network at MFC. Any questions or concerns for the computers or websites are welcome.
